The past 18months have been very difficult for the whole world but hopefully here in the UK we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Throught the pandemic we have managed to continue to find homes for the greyhounds whilst following the Covid Guidelines and this has been down to Lesley who has mostly been dealing with homings singlehandedly! Our external fundraising has been drastically cut but Hayley has run a couple of on-line auctions and people have been kindly donating each month which has kept us going.

Hopefully things are starting to open up and we have started our Walk & Talk events again. We are hoping to go to different venues around the county so that people should find a walk near to them some time in the year. We have taken the decision to stop holding Play Dates. We have had a couple of near accidents and have heard of other tragic accidents happening to other groups. We would hate for something to happen while the dogs are meant to be enjoying themselves. They were originally started when it was hard to find somewhere secure for the dogs to run but there are now lots of dog fields and venues that owners can hire for themselves.

We are getting a few fundraising events booked and they will appear here under events and on our Facebook page.We have other events in the pipeline so keep a lookout for announcements.

One date for your diary is December 11th 2021. Covid willing we will be at Mereside Community Centre for Hounds & Carols. We are holding the event in the afternoon which is a change for us. We will be there from 2.00pm to 4.30. Santa and his Elves are paying us a visit. Of course this is all dependant on the virus but at least we have date to look forward to!

Thanks for all your support

Janine
